Who Are the 1st Graders?!
Our 1st graders are All-Stars this year! All-Stars
are always on top of their game, and they are
a team! They work together and learn from their
mistakes, as well as from one another. All-Stars
have SPIRIT! My first graders have clear
expectations and they will take it a step further by
creating goals for themselves! This will be
applied for the semester, the year, and for 1st
grade in general! They are ready to learn.
All-Stars use kind words and encourage one
another. Positive Vibes!

What Will 1st Grade Do This Year?
This year our 1st graders will participate in various projects both in and outside of the classroom. These projects will reinforce our Triple Bottom Line:
Environmental: Arrow Academy Garden Club
Social: St. Jude's Donations
Economical: Arrowtown
1st grade will strive for growth in Reading, Comprehension, Writing in Response to Text, and Mathematics concepts.
When Will Learning Occur?
When does this happen? There isn't a minute to spare in the classroom! Our 1st graders experience 80% of their instructional time in small groups and 20% in whole groups.
Where Does Learning Take Place?
Our 1st graders will be in station rotation throughout their school day. Each station provides various activities to support instruction.
Why Do We Teach This Way?
Evidence shows that doing things the "Arrow Way" provides greater opportunities for success. By working in small groups, we meet students at their needs and set goals for achievement. Students enjoy working with their peers and one on one with the teacher! The best thing about it?? EVERY teacher uses the 80/20 model.
